Rst 1

RESTORATIVE YOGA LEVEL I- The Foundation
The Art of Deep Rest

​

This training offers a comprehensive understanding of restorative yoga principles, techniques, poses and practices.  Upon completion of the training, you will be fully prepared and certified to teach a restorative yoga class or offer a private restorative yoga session.

Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Level I is open to anyone wanting to understand
and incorporate restorative practices into their work and/or personal lives including yoga students, body workers, physical therapists, nurses, and health professionals in the field of body-mind medicine and psychology.

About the program
You will discover how this simple practice offers powerful personal transformation.
You will gain a deep understanding of the science behind restorative yoga and the specific techniques and structures of the restorative yoga practice. 


You will learn the powerful art of restorative yoga; how to work with subtle energies
to enhance or deepen each individual person’s experience, including restorative
assists using therapeutic touch. You will experience how restorative yoga stimulates the body’s natural healing mechanisms, cultivates inner calm as well as a deep connection with Self.
Upon completion of the training, you will be ready to teach restorative yoga within a class setting or as a private, one-to-one 
session.

  • The history and yoga lineage of Restorative Yoga

  • The autonomic nervous system; sympathetic, parasympathetic nervous system

  • Theory and application of the Relaxation Response

  • Neurological, psychological, physical, energetic effects of Restorative Yoga

  • Classic restorative yoga poses

  • How to skillfully use props for optimal support and rest

  • Restorative pranayama, meditation visualization techniques

  • Restorative assists; the art of therapeutic touch

  • The language of restorative yoga; choice of language to deepen the restorative experience

  • Develop specific skills of observation to understand and assist misalignments
    that inhibit deep relaxation

  • Optimizing the environment; classroom and studio set-up to support the restorative experience

  • Understand how to support special conditions including pregnancy and injury

  • Sequencing the restorative yoga practice

  • Integrating restorative yoga into hatha, power and yin style yoga classes

  • Practical experience working one-on-one with clients

  • Practical experience sequencing and teaching a restorative class

Upon completion

  • Restorative Yoga Teacher certificate, eligible for Yoga Alliance CEU hours.

Rest 2

RESTORATIVE YOGA LEVEL II- Therapeutics
The Art of Deep Healing Rest

 

Building on the foundation of Restorative Yoga Level I, this training explores the therapeutic benefits of restorative yoga. Gain knowledge, skills and confidence to offer restorative yoga for specific therapeutic benefits, supporting whole body rejuvenation and healing.

Restorative Yoga Level II-  Therapeutic Applications is open to anyone wanting to understand and incorporate restorative yoga therapeutic practices into their work and/or personal lives including yoga teachers, body workers, physical therapists, nurses, and health professionals in the field of body-mind medicine and psychology. 

About the program
This training deepens our understanding of the science of restorative yoga and introduces the application of restorative yoga therapeutics as powerful, transformative, healing processes.


You will deepen your knowledge of the nervous system, specifically as it is affected by stress, illness and injury.  You will come to understand how and why the mental/emotional state can inhibit or stimulate healing.  You will learn how to apply restorative yoga therapeutic practices to optimize the body’s natural healing for a wide range of health challenges and conditions.


You will develop skills to safely support healing both as teacher and practitioner.

Upon completion of the training, you will be ready to teach restorative yoga therapeutics to special populations within a class setting or as a private, one-on-one session.
 

Prerequisite
This training requires completion of a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Level 1- The Foundation. If you have taken a Restorative Yoga teacher training program other than Tianne’s, it will be considered on a one-to-one basis.  Please send request to tianneallan@gmail.com.

  • Principles and techniques of Restorative Yoga Therapeutics; poses, pranayama, meditation, visualization

  • Kosha model of assessment for understanding unique mind-body experience of the individual client

  • Principles and techniques of Yoga Nidra and its application as a therapeutic process

  • Adapt Restorative Yoga poses for special populations

  • Restorative Yoga chair poses and sequencing

  • Adapting Restorative Yoga poses to various environments; hospital, home care

  • Restorative Yoga Therapeutics for special conditions:

  • PainCare

  • Hormonal Balance

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Injury

  • Mobility limitation

  • Design and teach an individualized restorative yoga therapeutics program

Pain Car Yoga

YOGA FOR CHRONIC PAIN TEACHER TRAINING
Therapeutic Yoga & Pain Science

 

This training provides an in-depth understanding of the latest pain science and pain care yoga techniques. This comprehensive program covers pain science, yoga philosophy, therapeutic yoga, restorative yoga, therapeutic breath and meditation practices.  Participants come away with a solid foundation in understanding pain science, the biopyschosocial model of pain and yoga pain care tools, techniques and practices.


PainCare Yoga teacher training is open to anyone wanting to understand and incorporate  therapeutic practices for pain care into their work and/or personal lives including yoga teachers, body workers, physical therapists, nurses, and health professionals in the field of body-mind medicine and psychology.

About the program
This training offers and indepth understanding of the latest pain science and therapeutic pain care yoga techniques.

Prerequisite
There are no prerequisites for this program.

  • Understand basic pain neurophysiology as well as key neuroplasticity changes related to pain

  • Understand how to guide students with key techniques for safe movement when experiencing pain

  • Experience and learn how to teach therapeutic breath and meditation practices specifically for pain care

  • Experience and learn how to teach therapeutic yoga poses including gentle hatha and restorative yoga

  • Understand the vital difference  between gentle hatha and restorative yoga,  related to the mechanism of healing

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the lived experience of pain and its effect on the brain, the body and the soul

  • Apply the pain care principles and techniques through practice teaching
